Nyx Professional Makeup VR – Fall 2017

While I was at Cubicle Ninjas, we teamed up with Samsung and Nyx Professional Makeup to make a VR application mixed with 360 video, which ran on the Samsung Gear VR. There were 3 V-Loggers we worked with to showcase different Nyx products, and how they used those products for their makeup.

I was responsible for all of the 3d models represented in the program from modifying the models to match their branding, all of the texturing using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and optimizing to make sure everything would run smoothly on mobile VR. The Logos on the models were supplied to me by one of the Graphic Artists I worked with, but I created all text and textures on the model’s materials either in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator CC.

Images below are reference photos I took while creating the texture for the Highlight Contour Pro Palette. I worked with photos I took where needed for all palette models I worked with in Photoshop CC, and I created text on the textures on other products to match Nyx’s 2017 branding in Illustrator CC. I did this where needed for additional Assets as well.

Embedded Sketchfab 3D Models used in the Nyx/Loreal Program are below…

You can grab and orbit the models around with the left mouse button, pan with the right or middle mouse buttons, and if you hold Alt + any mouse button, you can shine a light around the scene and model to view Roughness + Reflectivity on the models.

How To: Navigate Embedded Sketchfab Models

All 3D Models on my website in the VR Projects, 3D Icons and Misc 3D Models are embedded with my account on Sketchfab. I have the 3D Models set so you can view additional details like the Wireframe, Tri-Count and the texture map for all models I either unwrapped or created textures for.

When the “Model Inspector” is opened, you can view additional details in either the “3D” or “2D” views like individual texture maps or the wireframe on the 3D Model.

Polar Blitz – HTC Vive – Fall 2016

Polar Blitz is a VR project I worked on with Cubicle Ninjas in the fall of 2016. It was developed for the HTC Vive, and it was played in Microsoft Stores that Winter. I was responsible for optimizing 3d Art and Graphics I was given, and I was asked to do whatever was needed to make the graphics run smoothly in VR while maintaining a high level of quality.

Guided Meditation VR 2015 – 2018

While I was at Cubicle Ninjas, I worked on Guided Meditation VR for the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Mobile Samsung Gear VR. My tasks usually varied from working with the levels created by another designer. I would optimize models in levels so they would run smoother, and I put in or added customized particle effects where needed in other levels primarily focusing on Mobile Guided Meditation VR.
